One of the mainly goals of the Internet is exchanging information’s. Education in the Internet is function contained to that. In the network we can find many applies for education.

What’s most important computers are common in schools. In each school we can find computer lab. However we can use the Internet educational offer not just in school.
Thanks to network in our home opened a variety of educational possibilities. There is a standard offer like the Internet courses but we also have a possibility for example to visit a museum exhibition by network. Except this opportunity we can look at the most famous pictures, sculptures or buildings and read about it.
The Internet it’s also great resource to align educational potential when the difference become from social status or when place to live trammel educational progress. The network is an alternative for books which often are too expensive and it’s good that we can find them in network. Thanks to the Internet we can complete our knowledge on every topic. Another thing is that in the Internet existed many educational sites.

The Internet can make our life much simpler but we cannot base on it completely. Often information’s which appears in network are false. In my opinion it’s good that we use modern methods of learning but we have to be critical attitude to it and watch out for contents in the Internet.

Internet Addiction

Computer addiction is becoming huge social problem. I heard that in some countries the number of computer addicted is higher than the number of drug addicted.

It’s easy to become computer addicted because it’s so many ways of the Internet activity. In the network we are anonymous and there are many things we can easily get by the Internet. Another reason why this habit is forming is the possibility to tear ourselves from real life and become someone else. Sometimes this is a good thing but we cannot cross the line and we have to remember that it can’t replace our real life. Ours we spend in front of computer screen we could reserve for something else so our social life loosing on it as well as our work. Unfortunately especially family loose on it because Internet addicted doesn’t have time for their relatives. The time we spend by surfing in the Internet is the most important symptom and it’s easy to noticed it also Internet addicted obsessively think about the Internet activity.

The problem of this addiction was already noticed but it’s hard to find professional help or some backup group in this aerial. This addiction seems to be less dangerous than alcohol or drug addiction but the mortal cases already happened. Some 28 years old South Korean died because he spends 50 hours in front of computer and he get heart failure.

Information society and ethics :Cybercrime

When the Intenet became common on job market appears many new possibilities and thanks that many existing domains of life could develop Unfortunately it also opened new ways for delinquency. Anyone can be a potential victim of cyber criminal cause they act on every area.
What’s interesting in my opinion people don’t treat crimes in network like the once in real life they more tolerant towards it.

There is a varied range of crimes committed in network. One of the most common of these crimes is downloading movies or music from special websites unless there are legal. I understand that it’s more than tempting but we have to remember that another people lose because of it like for example our favorite artist when instead buy his record in store we download it by the Internet.

In the Internet we can also encounter on frauds. Many people fall a victim to criminal who creates a fictional websites like false bank sites. People believe that they have in with true institution and confide them private information’s that are later abuse by criminals. To this kind of crimes we can also add stilling numbers of credit cards by breaking into websites.

Except these types of crimes in the Internet appears website with child pornography. Additional dangers for kids are chats because it’s a chance for pedophiles to look for victim.

I could write very long about these causes besides these crimes strictly connected with this branch also we have crimes transferred from everyday to virtual life. We have to remember that the most modern and effective programs like anti -viruses won’t help us If we will be naive and careless.

Information Society - cultural dimensions :Communication

Nowadays we have many possibilities to connect with other people. In my last post I wrote about blogging which is also one of these possibilities. Now I would like to mention couple other ways of communication.

Chats
According to Wikpedia chat(for example interia) is sort of internet chitchat and one of internet service but I think it’s not necessary to explain an internet user which is chat because it’s very popular. In web we can find chats probably connected with every topic we could imagine. This variety of topics give as opportunity to join people who shares our interests and get to know them which I think it’s one of the main pluses of chatting. We can also learn some new things, meet people from other sometimes very distant countries trough the mediation of Internet. It’s also chance for people who are shy in real life. On the other side we have to remember that we don’t really know who our interlocutor is. I also think that it cannot relieve contact face to face. Another thing is that sometimes people forget that it’s only virtual life.


Facebook,My Space,Twitter , Nasza Klasa

Users of these portals exploit them to find friends, communicate with them or to mikroblogging. I won’t describe sides of it because it’s similarly as in the case of chats I can only add that in this case people in my opinion share with others often completely strangers too much information’s from their lives like photos from their visit at the dentist. However I cannot be too critical because I joined Facebook last week.

In the end my opinion about this effect is positive. I see dark sides of it but if we use it carefully we can feel safe in network. On my opinion have influence fact that I know many people who make a friend by network and many couples as well for example my sister is happily married with a man who she met by Gadu-Gadu which is very popular communicator in Poland.
